It’s been a long time – and boy have we missed you all! But, we are back and we have a FABULOUS Bride of the Month to share with all of you – that of real TWD bride, Haleigh. Her lovely wedding unfolds below, and one of the best parts? Haleigh was a DIY bride. (We just love all the little details that she put into her big day!) What is the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

When I walked down the aisle and saw Matt standing there…it was the first time I had seen him that day. The feeling I got just took over and nothing else mattered at that moment. I remember locking eyes with him and it was like no one else was there. I couldn’t even hear the band at that moment! Matt is not an overly emotional person and is usually the “tough guy” in the room, so seeing him with tears in his eyes was so significant to me because the happiness and the joy was so magical! I will never forget that moment.

Also, the first look with my dad was very special and I am thrilled to have had that moment with him!

If you could relive your day again what would you do differently?

If I were to do it all over again I would have hired a videographer. The time goes by so incredibly fast and to have it all on video to look back on and to always have is something I would have loved!! Even though it was out of our budget at the time, looking back now, I would have gone over just for a videographer!

How did you know your “White Dress” was the one?

When I put it on and felt like I did not want to ever take it off! Being in the dressing room and being able to be the first person to see myself in the dress was amazing! I got emotional just standing in the dress, thinking about what my future husband would say, and that’s when I knew it was the one!! It only solidified that feeling when I walked out of the dressing room and my mom and grandma gasped and became teary-eyed. I never even thought about looking at or putting on another dress! It was exactly what I had envisioned!

What advice would you give to future brides?

To all the future brides my advice to you is…enjoy every single moment! Everyone will tell you that it goes by so fast and to savor everything and it is so true! The entire day just flies by! Also, there will be A LOT of people there! You will probably not get to chat with everyone and that is OK!!! Make sure to grab your new husband and get on the dance floor! The wedding is about you and your husband, so try not to get too distracted with trying to talk to everyone! AND EAT!!! The food is one of the best parts, so enjoy your first meal as husband and wife!

Why do you want to be a TWD Bride of the Month?

Everyone at TWD was so amazing and finding my perfect dress was exactly how I imagined it would be. It was a very, very special experience for me to have my mother and grandma with me as I said yes to the dress!! TWD exceeded my expectations in every way! From the stylist helping me into every dress to the private rooms and the champagne toast we got to share when I said yes! It was all so much fun!! It is something I will remember forever and share with everyone!

Also, I loved everything about our wedding and I would love to share the special moments and our ideas with future brides. Our wedding was all DIY and very cost efficient, so I would love to perhaps give some inspiration to brides and show them that is can be done!!
