Welcome to another installment of TWD’s Bride of the Month. This time we are featuring the wonderful wedding of Katie and Tim! We remember when Katie came into our shop (well over a year ago now) to try on gowns – she was between two dresses that were extremely different in style, and ended up with a gorgeous lace ballgown! (As a side note, we think she made the best choice!) We also had the pleasure to work with Katie and her bridesmaids who wore a lovely pop of yellow to compliment the military blues worn by the groom. And we always give credit where credit is due – all the photos below are compliments of Christinas Photography. So now, without further ado…let’s commence this month’s BOTM!

So, we’d love to know – how did you meet your husband?

Not the most exciting story, but we met at work. We were co-workers and friends before we began dating!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

After dinner there were three chairs placed on the dance floor. My Uncle Joey, who was providing all the music, asked that my dad, my sister and I sit down in the chairs. He then announced that since my sister and I had both been married within a year and a half of one another, he felt it was time for a sentimental tribute. He started to play a slideshow and he sang the song Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman. The slideshow detailed my sister and I growing up…let’s just say that there were lots of laughs and lots of tears. The best part of this event was that my dad isn’t a super emotional person – and this was the first time that I had ever seen my dad get emotional like that. It was a very touching moment and was definitely one of the best memories from my wedding day!

What was your favorite part of wedding planning?

My favorite part about wedding planning was making all of the centerpieces for our reception. Oh and I also love the cake tasting!

Katie 27{Yum! The cake looks delicious.}

Katie 28{So sweet.}

Katie 20{Love.}

What was the most difficult part of wedding planning?

The time table! Planning the wedding and making sure everything was done on time was a challenge for me! But thankfully everything turned out wonderfully.

If you could relive your day again, what would you do differently?

Everything really did end up going pretty much as I had hoped it would. I’m not sure if there is anything that I would want to change.

What advice would you give to future brides?

Try your hardest to not get stressed about anything that does not go exactly the way you would have wanted it to go. Really enjoy the day and take in every moment.

How did you know that your “white  dress” was the one?

I knew that my dress was the one because when I put it on I could see myself walking down the aisle in it. And I also did not want to take it off, which is always a good sign! I fell in love with it instantly!

Why do you want to be a TWD Bride of the Month?

I wanted to be a TWD Bride of the Month because I had the most wonderful experience at The White Dress, bridal store Michigan. I tell all future brides-to-be to not go anywhere else for their wedding dress. The White Dress just made my day that much more special by providing me with the perfect dress!
