It is with lots of love that we introduce you to our next Bride of the Month! Rachael is TWD-ette Marissa’s sister and her wedding dress journey was filled with lots of fun with every visit! Her time at TWD began long before she even was engaged, helping us with large events and stopping by to say hello and visit the dresses! After we found out about her engagement, we were super excited to figure out which dress she would choose – and she chose a beautiful, beautiful gown…which was made even more beautiful by her wearing it! We can’t wait to show you her ah-mazing wedding photos, shot by the so-talented Margaret Newton Photography. So, let’s begin!
{Meet Rachael.}
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Our day was perfect! It was really important to us to be sure that all of our guests felt included in the big day. We started our very own family tradition – The Cake Cutting Celebration! Instead of traditional centerpieces, we put a small chocolate torte cake on each table. Following dinner, we asked the DJ to announce that we would cut our cake. After our cake had been cut, the guests were given knives to cut the cakes at their tables and encouraged to sing along to Dean Martin’s “That’s Amore”. The wedding party filled the dance floor and swayed as the sun came through the open barn doors behind us. Friends and family were singing, dancing and eating and we couldn’t have asked for a better memory! Also, after dinner, we went to each of the tables and I took my own pictures of our guests. It was really special to be able to capture my own memories and now to have those photographs to look through. It was also a fun activity while we waited to board our plane for the honeymoon!

If you could relive your day again, what would you do differently?
I would love to relive the day all over again! But I wouldn’t do anything differently. It went exactly the way we had hoped and dreamed!

What advice would you give to future brides?
My advice would be to keep the day fun and simple. I would also recommend buying your dress at The White Dress, Bridal Shop Ann Arbor…because it is the best! {TWD Note: Thanks for the shout out Rachael!} I also recommend that you buy the dress that YOU love and to limit the number of people you take dress shopping. This is YOUR day! Lastly, make sure to take time as a couple on the big day. We were able to find time through all of the chaos and I really appreciate that when reflecting back on our day.

Why do you want to be a TWD Bride of the Month?
I want to be the Bride of the Month because being a TWD bride was amazing! I loved seeing past TWD bride’s memories on the website and I couldn’t wait to share my pictures and our story with future brides! Also, I love everything bridal; all of the sparkles and being pampered like a princess for the day.
