Bridal Market Recap: Spring 2012

Written by: Kristy

So, we’ve been back from Bridal Market in Chicago for a few weeks now and I haven’t yet reported the latest and greatest in bridal world.  Never fear though, I am back with the recap!

Pictures are better than words (sometimes) so I thought it would be best to let the photos do the talking.  But first, a high level summary.  There were lots and lots and lots of dresses – textured dresses were still all the rage, lace is huge, back interest was showing up everywhere…and the very exciting news?  There were a lot more options for those of you looking for dresses with straps, sleeves, or just something different than a strapless dress!

And before the pictures start, a mini disclaimer.  All of these were taken with my poor-dropped-too-many-times phone.  So please excuse the not so clear photography.  K, thanks.

First photo set – texture!  Whether it is limited to the skirt or whether it is an all over pattern, if you are looking for a modern and unique look, you are in luck!

{We love texture at TWD.  Here are some of our texture dresses: 1, 2, 3 & 4.}

And not to hold off the biggest development in wedding dresses too much longer – here come the sleeves!  The below photos show just some of the dresses we saw with sleeves.  And you can bet that we most definitely partook in this new trend – just wait till you see the beauts we bought for TWD this summer!  Eeks, I can hardly wait to show you!

{Yay for sleeves!  Check some of TWD’s dresses with sleeves: 1, 2, 3, 4, 56 & 7.}

Another lovely trend we noticed – back details!  We saw so many jaw droppingly gorgeous backs of dresses – as you will clearly see here.

{Oh. So. Pretty.  Want more?  Look what we have at the shop: 1, 2, & 3.}

And, since we are embarking on accessory season, here a few of the statement worthy headpieces that we spotted on the runway.

{What do you think?  Could you be a trend-setter like these girls?  No?  Well, don’t worry.  We offer lots of toned down versions of these too.}

 And of course, we can’t go to Market without highlighting one of our favorite parts – getting to chat with the designers themselves.   So, I just had to post these photos of the geniuses behind the gowns.  Here we are with the designers from Justin Alexander, Liz Fields, and Lis Simon!  LOVE them!

{Clearly, these photos were all taken on the same day.  But look how well we all coordinated!}

We had a blast at Market and can’t wait to share the pretties with you as they arrive at the shop!  So be sure that you have “liked” The White Dress on Facebook so you can track our arrivals as soon as they enter our boutique!

Until next time, lovelies!
