sarah

Welcome to this month’s edition of Bride of the Month!  We are excited to share with you another beautiful wedding from another beautiful TWD bride!  Sarah married her love, Camron, on a lovely summer day.  (Don’t you love when the weather cooperates?!)  Anyway, long before the actual beautiful day you are about to see, Sarah visited TWD, bridal boutique Ann Arbor Michigan.  We remember her visit because she looked stunning in dress after dress.  (She had quite a challenging decision on her hands!)  But we still remember when she tried on her actual dress – it was like the dress was made for her!  You will soon see for yourself just how lovely Sarah looked in her dress on her wedding day, so let’s commence!  Oh, and we can’t forget to give credit where it’s due – all images below are from Eileen Cote Photography.

Meet Sarah

{Meet Sarah.}

We like to start at the very beginning…so, how did you meet your husband?

Technically, I first met my husband in our preschool class that we had together! Even though we grew up in the same town and played on a few of the same YMCA soccer teams, we really didn’t cross paths again until high school. Our relationship started in junior year when we were 16 and 17 years old, as we got to know each other better from our student senate class.  The rest is history now!

What was your favorite part of wedding planning?

My favorite part of wedding planning was getting to spend time with all of my loved ones throughout the year as they helped with all of the details leading up to my special day.  These are the memories I will always cherish!

What was the most difficult part of wedding planning?

I’d say the most difficult part of wedding planning was the wait. We waited a full year and every new idea or item purchased just built up the the excitement.  I couldn’t wait to see it all unfold!  And even though it was a challenge, and even though it felt like we waited forever, I would not have changed a thing – having that time to plan out every aspect was definitely necessary!

How did you know your “white dress” was the one?

After hearing (and then finding out for myself!) how wonderful The White Dress is in every facet, I was set on finding my dress on my first and only “yes to the dress” appointment.  I tried on about ten similar mermaid-style dresses and narrowed it down to my top two. Once I tried them on back-to-back, we all instantly knew that my white, Venetian lace gown was the one!

Did you do any DIY projects for your wedding? If so, what was your favorite?

Decorations and sentimental details from both sides of the family played a huge role in our wedding, as it was very important to personalize the day to the two of us. Both of my mothers helped to make some of our special little details, but our florist knocked it out of the park with most of the decorations, as she transformed both sites into a dream land!

However, my absolute favorite DIY project was incorporating our mother’s wedding dresses into my bouquet, handkerchief, garter, and ring pillow! We made sure to collect these special items after the wedding and put them in a shadow box for us to keep in memory of our special day.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Definitely coming down the aisle with my dad and seeing Camron’s reaction. He was emotional, but not overly so, and it made me feel more beautiful than ever before.

If you could relive your day again, what would you do differently?

If I could do it all again, I would eat more before the ceremony. I wasn’t particularly worried about my dress fitting, but the non-stop events kept me pretty distracted and it caught up with me afterwards during the photos.

What advice would you give to future brides?

I would advise brides to cherish every moment!  Enjoy the engagement, the planning process, the wedding day, your honeymoon, and as you start  your new life together. It may be stressful at times, but try to make it fun in any way that you can and celebrate your happiness with your loved ones.

Why do you want to be a TWD Bride of the Month?

I would like to be a TWD Bride of the Month because my dress and the selection process was more special than I could have ever imagined and I think future brides will appreciate all of the intricate details that went into creating the perfect atmosphere for our wedding!
